About

Mr Mandem

At Mr Mandem, we believe children’s stories should do more than entertain — they should prepare kids for real life. We want to help little people grow into big people with strength, kindness, and self-awareness. Our books introduce bold, funny, and relatable characters—each inspired by the real challenges kids face today. From peer pressure and social media to friendship and honesty, every story delivers lessons that matter.

our mission

To help families raise emotionally intelligent, confident kids through stories that are entertaining, relatable, and practical — backed by simple Parent Prompts that turn storytime into everyday learning.

Why Every Kind of Book Belongs in a Child’s Library

We believe children’s shelves should hold every kind of book:

Fun & silly that kids reach for again and again. Warm & heart-led stories that nurture empathy. Informative & educational reads that build life skills.

Mr Mandem sits right where these meet—playful characters with a purpose. Kids feel seen; parents feel supported.

mr mandem values

They’re woven into every character, every story, every conversation

Respect

We show how choices affect others (volume, queues, screens) and model kind fixes, not lectures. Parent Prompts turn courtesy into simple, daily actions at home and school.

Realness

We name real pressures—likes, labels, fitting in—without shame. The characters aren’t perfect; they’re relatable, so kids see themselves and feel safe to talk.

Resilience

Small brave steps and bounce-backs: calming down, pausing before posting, practising “try again.” Kids leave with doable strategies, not just slogans.

Honesty

Gentle truth-telling and repair: owning mistakes, saying sorry, trying again. Prompts guide “What would you do differently?” conversations.

Why I Started Mr Mandem.

Becoming a dad’s been one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. It’s opened me up to a lot — patience, perspective, and plenty of learning on the go. There’s no manual for being a good parent, is there? You’re just trusting your gut, trying to make the right calls, and doing your best to build that real connection at every stage of their little lives.

Our nights are a bit of a routine now — dinner, bath, bottle, and bed. My wife and I take turns reading two books before lights out. We mix it up too — swapping out old favourites for new ones from the library every few weeks. But over the past couple of years, I’ve noticed there aren’t many books that actually prepare kids for the world they’re growing up in.

It’s a mad, fast-changing world — AI, screens, all sorts. And as a parent, that can be a bit nerve-racking. So I wanted to create stories that could help — books that give kids a bit of street smarts, some self-awareness, and the resilience to handle whatever life throws at them.

At the end of the day, Mr Mandem isn’t about perfect parenting — it’s about connection.
It’s about giving families something real to read together — stories that spark proper conversations, make kids think, and remind us grown-ups that we’re all just figuring it out as we go.
